Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Information We Collect

SoPoster collects information you provide directly when creating an account, including your name, email address, and password. We also collect information from the social media accounts you connect to our platform, such as OAuth access tokens required to publish content on your behalf.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the SoPoster service
  • Publish content to social media platforms on your behalf, with your explicit authorization
  • Send notifications related to your account and the service
  • Analyze service usage to improve the user experience
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

3. Social Media Account Access

When you connect a social media account (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Bluesky, or Mastodon), SoPoster obtains OAuth access tokens that allow us to publish content on your behalf. These tokens are stored in encrypted form and are only used for actions you explicitly authorize within the platform.

SoPoster does not access, read, or store the content of your feed, private messages, or follower data beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the service.

4. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for commercial purposes. We may share information with:

  • Service providers that help us operate the platform (hosting, databases, email delivery)
  • Social media platforms you connect, solely to execute authorized publications
  • Legal authorities when required by law

5. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of access tokens at rest and in transit (HTTPS). However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. Social media access tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect an account or delete your profile.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Revoke SoPoster's access to your social media accounts at any time
  • Export your data in a readable format

8. Cookies

SoPoster uses essential cookies required for the service to function (session authentication). We do not use advertising tracking cookies or share browsing data with third parties.

9. Children's Privacy

SoPoster is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

10. Third-Party API Usage

SoPoster integrates with third-party APIs to publish content on your behalf, including the Pinterest API, Twitter/X API, LinkedIn API, Meta Graph API (Facebook, Instagram, Threads), YouTube Data API, Bluesky API, and Mastodon API.

Regarding Pinterest specifically: SoPoster uses the Pinterest API solely to publish Pins and boards that you explicitly create and authorize within our platform. We do not read, store, or redistribute your Pinterest feed, follower data, or any Pinterest-derived content. We do not resell or share Pinterest-derived data with any third party. When you disconnect your Pinterest account from SoPoster, your Pinterest OAuth access token is immediately and permanently deleted from our systems.

SoPoster is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or sponsored by Pinterest, Twitter/X, Meta, LinkedIn, Google/YouTube, or any other third-party platform whose API we access.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by email or through a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of the service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
